Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 22, 2026
1. Introduction
Main Method LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates T'allez ("the Service"), a web-based fencing scoring application available at tallez.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide voluntarily
- Waitlist email address: If you sign up for our waitlist, we collect the email address you provide. This is the only personally identifiable information we actively request.
Information collected automatically
- Anonymous authentication data: We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to create a temporary, anonymous identifier for your device. This identifier is not linked to any personal information.
- Scoring and session data: Bout scores, touch logs (including timestamps), fencer names you enter, and session metadata are stored in Google Cloud Firestore to enable the scoring and live share features.
- Analytics data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as page views, feature usage, device type, and general geographic region. This data helps us understand how the Service is used and improve it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the scoring and live share features of the Service.
- Send you updates about T'allez if you joined our waitlist.
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the Service.
- Detect and prevent abuse or unauthorized access.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
The Service uses the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, App Hosting) — used for anonymous authentication, data storage, and hosting. Subject to Google's Terms of Service.
- Google Analytics — used for anonymized usage analytics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
When you use the fencing tournament import feature, we fetch data from third-party tournament websites on your behalf. We do not store imported tournament data beyond your active session.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. We implement security rules to ensure users can only access their own session data and data explicitly shared via share codes. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
Scoring sessions and touch data are retained as long as they are useful to you. Waitlist email addresses are retained until the Service launches and you are notified, or until you request removal. Anonymous authentication identifiers expire according to Firebase's default retention policies.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request deletion of your personal data (including waitlist email addresses).
- Opt out of analytics tracking by using browser-level privacy controls or ad blockers.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The scoring features use anonymous authentication and do not require any personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information (such as a waitlist email), please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
